Friday Favorites 3/2

We’re so close to the weekend, friends! What’s on your agenda? I’m heading to a bar crawl with a friend, which is slightly terrifying. I haven’t been on one since college, so I’m not sure my 28-year-old body will be able to handle it! If I learned anything from my crazy college years it’s this: pace yourself.

As with every Friday, I’m sharing some of my favorite eats, activities and observations from the week.

Function Brewing

We’re lucky to have lots of amazing breweries in Bloomington, but we find ourselves going to Function more and more. Because the brewery makes smaller batches of beer, there are always plenty of unique brews on tap. We stopped by on Sunday for their special Girl Scout cookie and beer pairing. What a fun event! The pairings complemented each other well and, it gave me an excuse to eat dessert before lunch. We all left full after ordering sandwiches for lunch — they’re the best!

Spring Surprises

This year will be our first spring in our house and we’re already seeing some signs of what’s to come, thanks to the bizarre weather we’ve had the past few weeks. Flowers we didn’t even know we had are starting to pop up in our backyard and the magnolia tree out front is on the verge of blooming. I can’t wait to see what pops up in our yard over the next few weeks! We’re looking forward to planting our first garden this year.

Missing Richard Simmons

I love a good mystery, so this podcast is right up my alley. It investigates why the fitness guru disappeared from the public eye two years ago. There are lots of podcasts I love, but this is the one I’ve been looking forward to most each week since it came out.

Kombucha

I’ve been on a huge kombucha kick lately. I love the way the fermented tea tastes, so I’ve been reaching for it when I want something other than water. While the health benefits of kombucha are up for debate, it’s a much healthier choice than soda.

What are you loving lately? Tell me in the comments!
