Hi, friends!

Welcome to the place that fuels my passions and keeps me sane. I started this blog in 2015 as a way to share my love of great recipes, easy DIY projects and faraway places. Writing in this space gives me so much joy.

By day I’m a broadcast journalist based in Indiana. I cover everything from politics to farming, depending on the week. Meeting new people and getting to tell their stories is challenging, but oh so rewarding. I think it’s the best job in the world. But, sometimes the crazy schedule and disturbing stories get to be too much. That’s when you’ll find me in the kitchen.

For me, cooking is the best kind of therapy. At the end of a bad day, it’s something I can take control of. There’s nothing better than losing yourself in a great recipe. I cherish the box of handwritten recipes that hold my family’s favorite dishes. But, I also love the challenge of throwing something together on the fly.

I hope the recipes I share here will make their way into your recipe boxes — or iPhones. They’re best enjoyed with a side of hearty laughter.
